Treasures in the Sea

Treasures in the Sea

82" w x 53" L                2009

Doodling, drawing, sketching, or the new art form named  "zentangle". Call it what you may, but this quilted wallhanging started out as a sketch, then a doodle, and using my skills at zentangling. When I finished the drawing it looked like sea shells to me so that's how the quilt started. I hand dyed all the fabrics used in the quilt, some paint was added. Teh it was missing something...fish! I have a photo book on fish so I hand painted the fish and appliqued them onto the quilt. The
"air bubbles" were created using metallic inks from Tsukineko.

This quilted wall hanging  was entered and juried into the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas in November 2009.
